We were deeply saddened to hear that our sister restaurant twenty2 in Drumcondra has closed its doors for good. The popular restaurant and Irish bistro has been in the Dublin 9 suburb since 2015 and remained a firm favourite with the locals. Seen as a hidden gem in a secluded road beside the Goose Tavern the light filled dining room and sun terrace served brunch, lunch and a popular Regulars menu 7 days a week.
It appears no agreement could be made with the landlords who own the Goose tavern regarding the lease and tenancy agreement which unfortunately could not be resolved. Twenty2 management had no choice but to close the doors for good on Monday 14th of October 2019 leaving all 23 staff and management out of work before the busy Christmas period.
The community of Dublin 9 is devastated and shocked by the closure, they will watch this space and see what the landlords intend to do with the property but let it be said that twenty2 was a fantastic asset to the are and will be sorely missed. We wish the staff all the best in the future.
